As CEO of Ortec Finance since 2006, Ton van Welie oversees the daily operation of a leading provider of solutions for risk and return management for pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, asset and private wealth managers. Van Welie has been with the company for over twenty years, fulfilling different roles in the organization. He developed and headed the housing associations division, was a driving force behind organizational restructuring, targeting improved client focus as well as a global expansion strategy. Ton graduated in 1995 from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam with a Master's degree in Econometrics. He regularly teaches asset liability management, risk management and scenario analysis, and has published in various professional journals.Ortec Finance provides software models and advisory services for risk and return management. Established in 1981 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, the independent company has around 200 employees who combine mathematical ability and business awareness to deliver innovative and pragmatic solutions. Our global client base comprises leaders in the pension, sovereign wealth, insurance, asset management and private wealth management markets, and together manage over 2 trillion dollars in assets. We help them make optimal decisions by designing and applying solutions for asset liability management, ex-ante and ex-post risk management, performance measurement and risk attribution, and financial planning.
