Ted Eliopoulos

Ted Eliopoulos is managing director of Strategic Capital at Prologis, Inc. Previously, he was managing director and senior advisor of Calvert Research and Management. Before that, he served as the Vice Chairman & Head of Strategic Partnerships at Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) from 2019-2022, and was also a member of the Investment Management Operating Committee, Co-Chair of the Sustainable Investing Council and Senior Sponsor of MSIM’s Diversity Council. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Ted served as the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) from 2014 - 2018. Prior to acting as CIO, from 2007 - 2014, he was CalPERS’ Senior Investment Officer of Real Estate and then Real Assets. From 2002 to 2006, he served as the Chief Deputy Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer at the California State Treasurer’s Office. Ted also held positions in both the private and public sectors, including real estate development and in environmental management with the U.S. Department of Energy. He began his career at Latham & Watkins as an attorney in the real estate division. Ted’s past and current board affiliations include the U.S. Real Estate Roundtable and the Pensions Real Estate Association (Board Chair 2012-2014), and the Sustainability Accounting Standard’s Board’s Investor Advisory Group, as well as the Alliance for Southern California Innovation Advisory Council. Ted currently serves on the Board of the Robert Toigo Foundation and the Pacific Pension Institute. Ted received his Bachelor’s degree, Magna cum laude, with honors from Dartmouth College and holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia, where he was recently named a top 100 Alumni Change Agent in Investing. Ted was also named the 11th most influential Investor in U.S. Pensions by Institutional Investor for the 2014 Pension Top 40 and #2 in the top 100 public investors of 2016 by the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute.
Ted is a co-chair of the Program Committee and member of the Nominating and Governance Committee.
