Gordon Bajnai

Gordon Bajnai is an economist and businessman, born in 1968, Hungary. He is currently chief executive officer of Campbell Lutyens & Co., Ltd. Previously, he served as chairman of Campbell Lutyens’ global advisory board. From April 2009-May 2010 he served as Prime Minister of the Republic of Hungary. Earlier he held positions as Government Commissioner of the National Development Agency, as Minister of Regional Development and as Minister of Economy and National Development. Currently Mr Bajnai serves on the investment committee of the European Fund for Strategic Investments, a major investment programme by the European Union. In the private sector, from 2014-2017 Mr. Bajnai served as Group COO of Meridiam Infrastructure and from 2000-2006 he was CEO of the Wallis Group, a major Hungarian diversified investment holding. Between 1995-2000, he was deputy CEO of CA IB Securities, a leading Hungarian investment bank. He also acted as Chairman of Budapest Airport and as advisor or director for Antin Infrastructure, Aegon Insurance and Raba plc. Currently Mr. Bajnai is also a member of the European Council on Foreign Relations, the Atlantic Council and the Advisory Board of the New Pact for Europe initiative, and was an adjunct professor of Columbia University.
